Agartala, January 16, 2025: Legendary mathematician Padmashree Dr. Anand Kumar expressed his willingness to contribute to the ‘Viksit Tripura’ initiative for a ‘Viksit Bharat’. This interest was revealed during his conversation with Anjan Banik, the father of Abhinaba Banik, a National Awardee and the only recipient of the National Award for Science and Technology Communication 2022-23 from the NCSTC Dept-Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

“Anand Kumar ji has shown a keen interest in contributing to the development of Tripura’s youth,” said Anjan Banik. “His vision aligns with the greater dream of transforming the state’s talented youth and potentially metamorphosing their future. However, this can only be realized if the state government, particularly the Chief Minister and the Youth Affairs Minister, along with the entire department, plan to explore these possibilities,” he added.

Anjan Banik emphasized that Anand Kumar’s approach is a result of the moral directions given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “During the National Mathematics Day of 2021, under my patronage as the National Chairman of the National Council of Researcher Teacher Scientists India, Anand Kumar visited Agartala and discussed various possibilities for the state’s youth and the popularization of mathematics with the then Chief Minister, Biplab Kumar Deb,” Banik recalled.

Anand Kumar, renowned for his Super 30 initiative, has previously visited Agartala in response to the State Department of Education’s invitation to promote their mega project. “Anand Kumar ji is a true friend, philosopher, guide, and teacher to Tripura,” Banik added.

The potential collaboration between Anand Kumar and the state government could pave the way for significant advancements in the education and development of Tripura’s youth, contributing to the broader vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’.
