Parliamentary Panel Embarks On Five-Day Official Visit To Sikkim

A 32-member delegation of the Department-Related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture, led by Rajya Sabha MP and Committee Chairman Sanjay Kumar Jha, arrived at Bagdogra Airport on Saturday to begin a five-day official visit to Sikkim from June 28 to July 2.

The visit aims to review tourism infrastructure, assess the development and maintenance of national highways, and examine initiatives to promote and preserve Sikkim’s cultural and indigenous heritage.

During their stay, the Committee will hold meetings with officials from the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Roads and Bridges Department, and the Cultural Affairs and Heritage Department.

The delegation was received at Bagdogra Airport by Assistant Protocol Officer Gopal Pathak of the Home Department, Gangtok, along with senior officials from the Home Department (Bagdogra Unit) and the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department.
