PM Modi Extends Birthday Greetings To Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday wished Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on his birthday, appreciating his efforts to fulfill the aspirations of the state’s people.

In a post on X, Modi wrote, “Birthday wishes to Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma Ji. His efforts to fulfil the aspirations of Meghalaya’s people are noteworthy. I pray for his long life and good health. @SangmaConrad.”

Sangma expressed gratitude in response, saying, “Thank you Prime Minister @narendramodi ji for your blessings. May God bless you.”

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also conveyed his greetings, posting, “Heartiest birthday greetings to Meghalaya CM Conrad K Sangma ji! Wishing you a long life and good health!”

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised Sangma’s leadership, stating, “Birthday greetings to Chief Minister of Meghalaya Shri @SangmaConrad. Under his guidance, the state is scaling new heights of progress and prosperity. Prayers to Maa Kamakhya and Srimanta Sankardev for his good health and long life.”

Sangma, president of the National People’s Party (NPP), assumed office for a second consecutive term in March 2023, with Deputy Chief Ministers Prestone Tynsong and Sniawbhalang Dhar. The NPP-led alliance, backed by 45 MLAs including two from the BJP, formed the government after securing 26 seats in the assembly elections. Sangma retained the South Tura constituency by 5,016 votes against BJP’s Bernard N. Marak, according to Election Commission data from March 2, 2025.
