President Droupadi Murmu Arrives In Sikkim On Three-Day Official Visit

Gangtok, May 26: President of India Droupadi Murmu arrived in Gangtok on Tuesday on a three-day official visit to Sikkim.

The President was received at the Libing Helipad by Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur and Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang. Several dignitaries, including Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly MN Sherpa, Deputy Speaker Raj Kumari Thapa, ministers, Members of Parliament and Legislative Assembly, senior civil and police officials, and representatives of the Indian Army, were also present to welcome the President.

Senior officials present included the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, District Collector of Gangtok, Superintendent of Police of Gangtok, and State Protocol Officers.

During her visit, President Murmu will attend the 7th Convocation of Sikkim University and will also present the President of India’s Police Colour to the Sikkim Police.
