Renthlei Lalrawna received the Padma Shri award from President Droupadi Murmu for his outstanding contributions in the field of Literature and Education.

Lalrawna is renowned for his dedicated work in advancing the Mizo language and literature. He is an accomplished novelist, essayist, critic, and fiction writer.

He has published 14 original volumes and translated 15 works from English literature. Among his contributions, two books and one essay have been included in the academic syllabi of the Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE) and Mizoram University.
