President Droupadi Murmu to Visit Sikkim from May 26 to 28

Gangtok, May 23: President Droupadi Murmu will embark on a three-day visit to Sikkim beginning May 26, officials confirmed on Saturday.

The President is scheduled to arrive at the Libing Army helipad in the afternoon, from where she will proceed to Lok Bhavan. Later that day, she will visit the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology at Deorali and the Orchidarium at Ridge Park in Gangtok.

On May 27, President Murmu will travel to Nathula along the India-China border in the morning. She will then attend the seventh convocation ceremony of Sikkim University, where she will confer degrees upon students from the 2023, 2024, and 2025 batches.

The visit underscores the significance of Sikkim’s academic and cultural institutions, while also highlighting the strategic importance of Nathula on the international border.
