Agartala, October 7, 2025: In a moment of pride for Tripura, Shyamal Dey, NSS Programme Officer of Bani Vidyapith Higher Secondary Girls’ School, and Anupam Das, NSS volunteer from Ramthakur College, have been honoured with the prestigious MY Bharat NSS Award for 2022-23 by President Droupadi Murmu.

The duo was recognised for their outstanding contribution to social service and community development. Under their leadership, NSS volunteers carried out impactful initiatives, including the plantation of 1,125 trees and collection of 51 units of blood. They also conducted a series of health and environmental awareness programmes, such as Pulse Polio drives, voter awareness campaigns, and digital literacy workshops to promote the “Cashless India” mission.

Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Tinku Roy, congratulated the awardees, calling their recognition “a moment of immense pride for Tripura.” He commended their dedication, sense of duty, and humanitarian spirit, describing them as “role models for the youth and ambassadors of service to society.”
