The murder of Indore-based businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, which occurred during his honeymoon in Shillong, Meghalaya, is set to be adapted into a feature film titled Honeymoon in Shillong. The film was announced by Raja’s brother, Vipin Raghuvanshi, at a press conference in Indore on Tuesday.
Raja was allegedly murdered by his wife, Sonam, and her accomplices during their trip to Sohra in Meghalaya. The high-profile case had drawn attention from authorities in both Madhya Pradesh and Meghalaya.
Produced by Varsha TV and Film Production and directed by SP Nimbawat, the film will feature casting by Akash Sharma. The Raghuvanshi family has extended their support to the project, requesting the makers to ensure a fact-based and respectful representation.
“We want the film to depict the true events and also reflect the real image of Meghalaya. The script has been reviewed and we’ve asked for changes to maintain accuracy,” said Vipin Raghuvanshi.
The family also expressed their intention to share the film with Meghalaya Police to aid in the pursuit of justice.
