Agartala, December 22, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday announced that the Ramakrishna Mission at Viveknagar, Agartala in West Tripura is set to expand its academic offerings by introducing foreign language courses on its campus in the near future.
Speaking at a programme of inaugurating the Ramakrishna Mission Rotary Mobile Dental Clinic Van, the Chief Minister said the initiative was taken after the authorities of the Mission’s CBSE-affiliated higher secondary school approached the state government with a proposal. The school has earned national recognition, having been declared a cyber smart school by NITI Aayog and an exemplary institution by the CBSE.
Saha informed that, as part of the follow-up process, he discussed the matter with Swami Suvirananda, General Secretary of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Kolkata. The proposal has since received approval, paving the way for the launch of the new courses. Swami Suvirananda is expected to visit Tripura shortly, and the foreign language programmes are likely to commence at the Viveknagar campus from next year. The courses are expected to include languages such as Japanese, Chinese and Spanish.

The Chief Minister also praised the Ramakrishna Mission for its longstanding contribution to quality, value-based education and its role in shaping socially responsible citizens.
Earlier in the day, Saha handed over a Rotary Mobile Dental Clinic to the Ramakrishna Mission. The fully equipped van, procured at a cost of Rs 60 lakh, is fitted with modern facilities to provide dental care services, particularly to people in underserved areas.
