The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, on Sunday observed the 15th Indian Organ Donation Day by organising a day-long awareness programme and a poster competition under the theme “Be a Lifesaver – Pledge to Donate Organ”.

The event was part of the national campaign “Angdaan – Jeevan Sanjeevani Abhiyaan” aimed at raising awareness about the life-saving potential of organ and tissue donation and encouraging individuals to pledge voluntarily.

Over 500 participants, including students, faculty, hospital staff, and members of the public, took part in the programme. The poster competition saw enthusiastic participation from MBBS, B.Sc Nursing, MLT, MRIT, BASLP students, and others from allied institutions, with more than 30 entries creatively portraying the importance of organ donation, breaking myths, and promoting donor registration.
