The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, observed World Physiotherapy Day for the first time today at the General OPD Complex under the global theme “Healthy Ageing”, with a special focus on preventing frailty and falls among the elderly.
The program was graced by Prof. N. Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent of RIMS Hospital, as Chief Guest, alongside Prof. L. Rajesh Singh, Dean (Academics), RIMS, and Dr. Joybi Heikrujam, Senior Physiotherapist, RIMS, Imphal.
As part of the observance, mementos were presented to patients who had successfully recovered through physiotherapy. Informative pamphlets highlighting physiotherapy’s role in healthy ageing and fall prevention were also released and distributed to raise awareness about its importance in enhancing overall well-being.
The event witnessed the presence of the Deputy Director (Administration), Principals of the Dental College and College of Nursing, Heads of Departments, faculty members, nursing officials, staff, and patient parties.
