Agartala, May 24, 2025: Tripura’s royal scion, political leader and TTAADC’s Administration Reforms Committee Chairman Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma announced on Friday that a series of investment proposals have been discussed during his recent meetings with top Indian industrialists, including Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, and Harshavardhan Neotia, Chairman of Ambuja Group. Many of these proposed investments are expected to be directed towards the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).

Debbarma made the statement while attending the Rising Northeast Investors Summit 2025 in the national capital. He emphasized the event’s potential to transform the region into a thriving economic hub. “If Northeast India is developed positively and we can achieve even 50% of what this summit envisions, then the region will emerge as a significant economic zone—not just for India, but for the world,” he said.

Highlighting a historic milestone, Debbarma noted that the TTAADC was included in such an investment platform for the first time. “We had very productive discussions with Mukesh Ambani and Harshavardhan Neotia, and several investment plans are on the table—particularly in the tribal regions,” he added.

Drawing a sharp contrast between India’s western and eastern geopolitical landscapes, Debbarma stressed the strategic importance of Northeast India. “Our western borders—with Pakistan and Afghanistan—remain hostile. But the eastern corridor, connected to ASEAN nations like Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand, offers immense economic potential,” he said.

He echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, stating, “It’s time we not only ‘Look East’ but actively ‘Act East’. If we can link the Northeast to these fast-growing economies, it will benefit the entire nation.”
