Sajibu Cheiraoba Celebrated In Manipur; National Leaders Extend Greetings

The traditional New Year festival of Sajibu Cheiraoba is being celebrated across Manipur on Thursday, particularly among the Meitei community, marking the beginning of a new lunar year with cultural and religious fervour.

On the occasion, President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi extended warm greetings to the people.
In a message shared on social media, President Murmu stated that such festivals, celebrated to welcome the spring season and mark the advent of the New Year, reflect the unity embedded in India’s rich cultural diversity. She added that these celebrations bring renewed energy and enthusiasm among people.

Extending Cheiraoba greetings, Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand, Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly Thokchom Satyabarta Singh, along with several other leaders, conveyed their wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba.
