Agartala, December 20, 2025: The Sanatan Hindu Sena on Saturday staged a demonstration in front of the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission office in Agartala, protesting what they described as continuing persecution of minority communities in Bangladesh. The protest triggered brief tension in the Lichubagan area, prompting authorities to deploy a large contingent of police and paramilitary personnel to maintain order.

According to the protesters, a minority youth, Dipu Chandra Das, was allegedly beaten to death in Dubalia Para under Bhaluka Upazila of Mymensingh district. They claimed the incident reflects a growing pattern of violence targeting religious minorities across the border.

Leaders of the Sanatan Hindu Sena said they organized the protest to draw attention to the issue and to demand immediate intervention from the Bangladesh government. They urged Dhaka to ensure strict measures to guarantee the safety and security of minority communities.

The organization further warned that if the Bangladesh government fails to take concrete steps, they will intensify their agitation in the coming days. Police officials on the spot said the situation remained under control and no untoward incident was reported during the demonstration.
