Security Forces Arrest Cross-Border Drug Smuggler In Manipur

In a series of coordinated operations across Manipur, Security Forces arrested a cross-border drug smuggler and two active insurgent cadres belonging to different outlawed groups.

In the first operation, a team apprehended Zamkhampau (67) of Bualkot village, Churachandpur district, from a forest area near his village under Behiang Police Station. The security forces seized 100 soap cases of heroin powder weighing approximately 1.2 kilograms from his possession.

In a separate operation, a self-styled Major of the UNLF(K), identified as Nameirakpam Kondum Meetei alias Lalheiba alias Lambu (45) of Ngairangbam Awang Mamang Leikai, presently residing at Khumbong Makha Leikai, Imphal West district, was arrested from the Ngairangbam Taokhong area under Patsoi Police Station. A mobile phone and a driving license were recovered from him.

In another operation, Security Forces arrested an active RPF/PLA cadre, Mayanglambam Milan Singh alias Lalhaba (39) of Arapti Mayai Leikai, from his residence under Irilbung Police Station, Imphal East district. The arrested individual was reportedly involved in extortion and abduction activities. A mobile phone was also seized from him.
