In a move aimed at stabilising volatile areas in Manipur’s hill districts, security forces conducted coordinated multi-location operations under Litan Police Station in Ukhrul district on March 24, dismantling fortified positions and recovering ammunition from conflict-prone zones.

According to official sources, simultaneous operations were carried out at Lengiangching and Mongkat Chepu villages, where bunkers erected by rival groups were systematically destroyed and rendered inoperative as part of efforts to neutralise strategic strongholds.
Security personnel also recovered a significant number of fired cartridges from the sites, indicating the intensity of earlier confrontations in the area.
Officials stated that the dismantling of these bunkers marks a crucial step toward de-escalating tensions and preventing further armed clashes.
Following the operations, incidents of firing have reportedly reduced considerably, reflecting an improvement in the ground situation.
Security forces have since established strong area domination through sustained patrolling and strategic deployment in sensitive locations.
The operations are part of ongoing efforts by authorities to restore normalcy in Manipur’s conflict-affected regions, with officials reaffirming their commitment to maintaining peace and preventing any resurgence of violence.
