Security Forces continued their search operations and area domination exercises in fringe and vulnerable areas across several districts of Manipur, leading to the recovery of a large cache of arms and ammunition on Wednesday.

During an operation conducted in the Changsang hill range under Sagolmang Police Station, Imphal East district, the forces recovered two single-barrel guns (SBBL), one double-barrel gun (DBBL), one SBBL shotgun, one country-made carbine without magazine, one country-made .32 pistol, one empty 9mm carbine magazine, 34 live rounds of different ammunition, five anti-riot cartridges, one camouflage helmet, one iron plate suspected to be used as body protection, and one bulletproof jacket.

In a separate search operation at Chingkakpam Turel, Buffalo Farm under Kakching Police Station, Kakching district, the forces seized one AK Ghatak rifle with empty magazine, one G3 rifle with empty magazine, one modified single-barrel rifle, four bolt-action single-barrel rifles, two empty INSAS LMG magazines, one empty INSAS rifle magazine, one empty SMG magazine, one HE 51mm mortar bomb, one hand grenade with detonator and ring, two pompi explosives, 60 live rounds of assorted ammunition, two tear smoke shells, two Baofeng handsets, two helmets, one bulletproof jacket, two magazine pouches, one pistol holster, and a pair of tactical shoes.
Meanwhile, in another operation, Security Forces arrested a self-styled Sergeant of the proscribed KYKL group, identified as Khangembam Joychandra Singh alias Nande (37) of Kumbi Laishang Leikai, Bishnupur district, presently residing at Uripok Khaidem Leikai, Imphal West district. He was apprehended from Uripok Huidrom Leikai locality under Imphal Police Station. A mobile phone and a wallet containing his AADHAR card were seized from his possession.
