The 18th LD Kazi Memorial Gold Cup Football Tournament 2025 commenced on Thursday at Chakung with the presence of notable dignitaries. The event was inaugurated by M.N. Sherpa, Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, who attended as the Chief Guest.

Other dignitaries present included MLA Aditya Golay, OSD to HMLA Raju Pradhan, Krishna Lepcha, OSD Rural Development Department PK Subba, former MLA D.N. Sherpa, Chairperson Mingma Lhamu Sherpa, OSD M.K. Rai, Advisor Phurba Tshering Bhutia, CLC President of Daramdin Constituency Tika Hang Subba, ADC Ravangla DP Dahal, and Chumbung BDO Ram Kr. Gurung.

The Chief Guest and other special guests were welcomed with a traditional Mandalay ceremony, reflecting Sikkim’s rich cultural heritage. Their presence elevated the tournament’s prestige and inspired players and spectators, highlighting the event’s role in promoting sportsmanship, unity, and community participation.
