The 72nd Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) successfully restored road connectivity in Yuksum following a landslide that had disrupted access between Border Outpost Nambu and Outer Border Outpost Chungri Basti on June 18, 2025.

The landslide had completely blocked the route at coordinates N-22°21’.097” E-88°07’.135”, severely affecting the operational mobility of security forces and creating hardships for local villagers and commuters.

Under the leadership of the Battalion Commandant, SSB personnel deployed at Border Post Nambu acted swiftly. Braving difficult terrain, harsh weather, and rocky debris, they cleared the blocked road with dedication and resilience.

The prompt action not only restored normal movement for the armed forces but also brought relief to the local community. Residents, village leaders, and travellers expressed heartfelt gratitude, lauding the SSB’s humanitarian spirit and commitment.

The operation exemplified the SSB’s guiding motto of “Service, Security, Brotherhood,” showcasing the force’s dual role in safeguarding borders and supporting civilians during emergencies.
