Athletes from Sikkim won three medals at the 36th East Zone Athletics Meet 2025, which concluded on Wednesday in Ranchi.

In the under-18 boys’ category, Phurba Hishey Sherpa bagged the gold medal in the 1000m race. In the under-18 girls’ section, Priya Chettri secured silver in the 1000m event, while Rewa Bareily earned the bronze medal in the heptathlon.

The Sikkim Athletic Association expressed gratitude to the manager, coaches, and support staff for their contribution and acknowledged the encouragement from the Chief Minister along with the support of the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs.

The East Zone Athletics Meet is a calendar event of the Athletics Federation of India.
