Gangtok, Dec 23: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay on Monday welcomed Major General M.S. Rathore, SM, VSM, as the new General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 17 Mountain Division, during a meeting at his official residence, Mintokgang.

The Chief Minister also expressed heartfelt appreciation for the outgoing GOC, Major General Amit Kabhtiyal (Sena Medal Bar), for his exceptional leadership and service. “We shared a strong and cordial relationship during his tenure, and his contributions will always be remembered,” said the Chief Minister.

Looking forward, the Chief Minister wished Major General Rathore success in his new role, stating, “I extend my best wishes for a successful and impactful tenure.”
