Gangtok, May 26: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Tuesday met Justice Meenakshi Madan Rai ahead of her assumption of office as Chief Justice of the Patna High Court. Speaking on behalf of the Government and people of Sikkim, he extended his heartiest congratulations and best wishes on her elevation.
Justice Rai’s appointment is a milestone for the state, as she becomes the first woman judge from Sikkim to be appointed Chief Justice. The Chief Minister praised her dedication, integrity and decades of service to the judiciary, calling the achievement a matter of immense pride and honour for Sikkim.
He expressed confidence that under her leadership the Patna High Court would continue to uphold the highest traditions of justice and constitutional values, and wished her a successful and exemplary tenure.
