Gangtok, May 19: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay, along with Chief Justice of the High Court of Sikkim, Justice Biswanath Somadder, inaugurated the newly installed floodlight system at the Mining SICA Cricket Ground, marking a significant step in the development of sports infrastructure in the state.

The inauguration ceremony, organised by the Sikkim Cricket Association (SICA), was attended by Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Deputy Speaker, Cabinet Ministers, MLAs who also serve as Advisors to the Government, Heads of Departments, officials from SICA, and members of the public.

President of SICA, Tika Subba, was also present during the event. The new floodlight facility, supported and sponsored by the Government of Sikkim, aims to enhance cricket infrastructure and enable the venue to host professional-level day-night matches and extended training sessions. The initiative is expected to significantly contribute to the growth of cricket in the region.
