Gangtok, June 4: Sikkim Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang today chaired a high-level emergency meeting with the Chief Secretary and senior officials from the Planning and Land & Revenue Departments to assess the critical situation unfolding in Mangan district.
Deeply concerned about the impact on lives and livelihoods, the Chief Minister has issued firm directives to immediately intensify rescue and relief operations in close coordination with the NDRF, SDRF, BRO, TAAS, and all other relevant agencies. Every effort is being made to ensure that help reaches those in need without delay.
In this hour of distress, the Chief Minister has earnestly appealed to all residents and tourists to remain calm and not give in to fear. He assured the public that the government is doing everything in its power to manage the crisis and provide safety and support to all, despite the immense challenges posed by this natural calamity.
“The government stands in solidarity with the people of Mangan and urges everyone to stay united and cooperate fully with rescue teams and local authorities”, he shared.
