Gangtok, Nov 15: The 5th Foundation Day of Pari Prakashan was celebrated on Saturday at Manan Kendra, Gangtok, with Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang attending as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister expressed his pleasure at participating in the event, noting his long-standing interest in literature and poetry. While he said he is not a writer or poet, he emphasized his commitment to supporting both established and emerging authors across the state.
Recalling the journey of Pari Prakashan since its inception in 2019, the Chief Minister highlighted its mission to assist writers and poets who face challenges in publishing their work. He praised Pari Prakashan for easing the creative journey of writers, promoting new talent, and bridging the gap between authors and readers.
Highlighting the state government’s focus on cultural development, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of strengthening literature, language, music, and the arts, and preserving Sikkim’s literary heritage.
He extended congratulations to the award recipients and expressed gratitude to writers, poets, readers, supporters, and the Pari Prakashan team for their contributions in making the event successful, while wishing continued growth for the state’s literary community.
