Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Monday inspected the ongoing construction of the Sikkim State Library near the MLA Hostel. The facility is planned as a state-of-the-art centre featuring an Art Gallery, Digital Library, Physical Library, Atma Nirbhar Research Centre, and the Institute of Transforming Sikkim.

During the visit, the Chief Minister reviewed the construction progress and directed officials from the Buildings and Housing Department to accelerate work and ensure timely completion.

He said the library, once completed, will serve as a hub for educational, intellectual, and cultural activities, providing valuable resources for students, researchers, and the wider community. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the project will contribute significantly to knowledge, innovation, and self-reliance in Sikkim.
