Prem Singh Tamang met Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday and discussed key developmental priorities of the state.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister briefed the Prime Minister on Sikkim’s requirements across sectors including infrastructure, sustainable development, and public welfare. Issues related to ongoing and future development initiatives were part of the discussion.
The Chief Minister also referred to the reopening of the Nathu La Pass trade route along the historic Silk Route, scheduled to resume from June 2026. The reopening is expected to support local communities and trade activities.
An invitation was extended to the Prime Minister to attend the closing ceremony of Sikkim’s Golden Jubilee statehood celebrations. The Prime Minister accepted the invitation.
The meeting also covered matters related to coordination between the state and the Centre on development initiatives.
