Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Saturday chaired a state-level review meeting at Samman Bhawan to evaluate the implementation of the newly enacted criminal laws — the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) — which came into effect in July last year.

As part of the programme, the Chief Minister launched the “Compendium of Notifications, Rules, and SOPs on New Criminal Laws.” Addressing officials, Tamang underscored the importance of the legal reforms and provided guidance to ensure their smooth and effective implementation with an emphasis on public safety, security, and convenience.

He also congratulated the officials involved in compiling the compendium, commending their dedication and expertise.
