The Sikkim government has declared August 10 as ‘Mother’s Honour Day’ (Aama Samman Diwas) to honour the selfless contributions and sacrifices of mothers. The announcement was made through an official notification issued by Chief Secretary R Telang on Wednesday.
The notification recognises the vital role of mothers as caregivers, educators, and mentors who shape children’s lives and contribute to society. August 10 will now be observed annually to celebrate and pay tribute to mothers’ unconditional love and dedication.
