A Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Centre for Computers and Communication Technology (CCCT), Chisopani; the Department of Commerce & Industry, Government of Sikkim; and BOSCH India Foundation for the establishment of an Artisan Training Centre (ATC) at CCCT, Namchi district.

The initiative aims to provide skill development training to local youth, including school and college dropouts, in the maintenance and repair of home appliances. The training will be industry-relevant, practical in nature, and offered free of charge to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship in the region.

Under the agreement, BOSCH India Foundation will supply training equipment, curriculum support, and learning resources. The Department of Commerce & Industry will ensure linkages to government schemes and programs, while CCCT will host the ATC as a Centre of Excellence, offering the necessary infrastructure and operational support.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at Udyog Bhawan in Gangtok. It was signed by Sakina Baker (BOSCH India Foundation), Choden Gyatso and M. Ravikumar (Department of Commerce & Industry), and Deepak Rasaily (Principal, CCCT), in the presence of Praveen Parihar (BOSCH) and Shirshak Gurung (CCCT).

This collaboration is expected to play a key role in strengthening skill-based education and creating employment opportunities for the youth of Sikkim.
