Sikkim: Landslide Hits Rimbi-Darap Road In Gyalshing, SSB Restores Connectivity

Traffic on the Rimbi-Darap road near Rimbi Waterfalls was restored following a landslide triggered by continuous heavy rainfall on July 28. The landslide occurred approximately 150 meters towards Darap, blocking vehicular movement in the area.

The incident was reported to the 72nd Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) by local residents at around 9:15 PM. Acting swiftly, a rescue and relief team led by Deputy Commandant Meghnath Raut, under the guidance of the Commandant, was deployed to the affected site.

The team worked efficiently to clear the debris and reopen the road for public use. Local residents and commuters have thanked the 72nd Bn SSB for their prompt action in restoring road connectivity.
