Gyalshing, Dec 8: The District Administration of Gyalshing, in collaboration with NHPC Rangit under its CSR initiative, inaugurated a “MotherPod” Breastfeeding Facility on Monday at the Chenrezig Singkham Riwo Potala premises in Sangha Choeling. The initiative, led by District Collector Tenzing D Denzongpa, aims to provide a safe and comfortable space for nursing mothers visiting the spiritual site.

The facility is equipped with seating, sanitation support, and mother-and-child-friendly provisions to ensure hygiene, privacy, and comfort. DC Denzongpa highlighted that establishing mother-friendly infrastructure in public and spiritual spaces is vital for promoting maternal and child health and enhancing visitor experience.

The MotherPod has been handed over to the Administrator of Chenrezig Singkham Riwo Potala for its upkeep and maintenance. The District Administration plans to introduce similar facilities at other public locations to strengthen inclusive and accessible infrastructure.

The inauguration was attended by SP Gyalshing Tshering Sherpa, CEO Pema G Bhutia, Welfare Officer Roshan Sharma, NHPC Senior Manager Pandu Gagrai, and Administrator Nawang Gompo.
