Namchi, Nov 1: The launch event of SARATHI 1.0, an initiative supported by Titan Company Limited, was held on Saturday in Namchi District. The programme, envisioned by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), aims to achieve an addiction-free and suicide-free Sikkim, focusing on compassion, community well-being, and social transformation.
Deputy Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Raj Kumari Thapa, attended the event as the Chief Guest. The programme was also attended by Advisor to the Chief Minister Rohit Raj Maharaj, Advisor for Panchayati Raj Rama Tamang, State Women’s Commission Chairperson Tenny Doma Bhutia, and several state body chairpersons, including Basant Yonzone, Sanjay Dilpali Rai, and T. T. Bhutia. Namchi Municipal Council Vice Chairperson Sabitri Tamang was also present.
Officials from various departments, Panchayats, Councillors, Principals, Police Officers, NGO representatives, and youth and women convenors also participated in the event, reflecting broad community involvement.
The launch of SARATHI 1.0 marks a key step in Sikkim’s efforts to build a healthier, resilient, and socially responsible society through collective participation of the government, local bodies, and citizens.
