Sikkim MP Indra Hang Subba met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Parliament House on Wednesday to discuss important matters concerning the state.
Subba submitted a memorandum seeking resolution of the long-pending reservation of seats for the Limboo and Tamang Scheduled Tribes in the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, highlighting the urgency ahead of the proposed delimitation exercise.
He also requested the inclusion of 12 remaining communities of Sikkim in the Scheduled Tribes list, citing the state government’s efforts, including a resolution passed by the Assembly and supporting ethnographic reports.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured Subba of all possible support and due consideration of the issues raised.
