Gangtok, Feb 24: Indra Hang Subba has written to the Delhi Police seeking prompt action against neighbours accused of racially abusing and intimidating three women from Arunachal Pradesh in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar.

According to police, the incident occurred on February 20 at around 3:30 pm following a dispute related to repair work in the women’s rented fourth-floor apartment, where drilling and electrical installation were underway. Authorities stated that the women allegedly faced racial slurs, humiliation and threats during the altercation. A video of the incident has since circulated widely on social media.

In a letter addressed to Special Commissioner David Lalrinsanga, Subba described the episode as a grave violation of constitutional values and a serious act of racial hostility that went beyond a neighbourhood disagreement.

The Member of Parliament called for a fair, impartial and thorough investigation supported by evidence and witness statements. He also urged strict legal action against those responsible and sought measures to ensure the safety, dignity and protection of the women during the course of the investigation.

Subba expressed confidence that prompt and transparent action by the police would help restore public trust and demonstrate zero tolerance towards racial discrimination in the national capital.
