Karma Tempo Bhutia, Principal of PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary School, Mangan, has been selected for the National Teachers’ Award 2025. He is the only recipient from Sikkim this year among 45 distinguished teachers from across India.

Bhutia was among three candidates from the State shortlisted to present before the Independent National Jury on 12th August 2025 and secured his place among the nation’s top educators. The award recognises teachers who have made significant contributions to improving education quality, fostering classroom innovation, and inspiring students to excel.

He will be felicitated by the President of India on Teachers’ Day, 5th September 2025, at a ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

The Education Department, Government of Sikkim, congratulated Bhutia for bringing this prestigious honour to the State and acknowledged his dedicated service in shaping the future generation.
