Sikkim: Second Batch Of Stranded Tourists Airlifted From Chaten To Pakyong

The second group of tourists stranded in Chaten due to adverse weather and difficult terrain was successfully airlifted to Pakyong Greenfield Airport on Thursday.

An MI-17 helicopter transported 20 tourists, including two foreign nationals, ensuring their safe evacuation. To facilitate onward travel, Sikkim Nationalised Transport (SNT) buses were arranged to take the rescued tourists to Gangtok.

Additionally, a separate MI-17 helicopter flight was organized for tourists traveling to Bagdogra, providing secure transportation for those continuing their journeys.

The State Government remains focused on ensuring the safety and well-being of tourists amid challenging weather conditions.
