Three minor boys, who went missing from Tingrithang, Namchi, were traced and rescued by the Naya Bazar Police under Soreng District within hours of receiving information from Namchi Police Station.
Acting on a telephonic alert from Namchi PS, the Naya Bazar Police quickly mobilized field personnel and issued alerts for the missing children. The boys were intercepted at Ramam Check Post while attempting to cross the inter-state border on foot.
The rescued minors, all Class X students of Pabong Secondary School, had reportedly left home in search of employment. After counselling, they were safely handed over to their families, with formal intimation sent to Namchi Police officials.
The parents expressed gratitude for the swift action and professionalism of the Naya Bazar Police, which ensured the children’s safe return.
Superintendent of Police Nahkul Pradhan congratulated the personnel involved, emphasizing the department’s ongoing commitment to protecting citizens, especially minors, in line with the Sikkim Police motto: Protect & Serve.
