Gangtok, Sep 12: Three people were killed and several others injured after a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall hit Rimbik Ward in Yangthang constituency, Sikkim.

Bhim Hang Limboo, Minister of Buildings & Housing and Labour Department and Area MLA of 02-Yangthang, personally reached the site early this morning to oversee the rescue efforts. The operation was supported by SSB personnel, police, health department staff, disaster management teams, and local villagers.

Heavy rainfall has cut off multiple roads, making rescue operations challenging. Despite the difficulties, the injured were safely transported to Gyashing District Hospital for treatment.
