Sikkim University has announced the provision of one-day menstrual leave per month for female students. The decision, made public on December 4, follows a request by the Sikkim University Students’ Association (SUSA) last month.

The notification issued by Registrar Laxuman Sharma states that the Vice-Chancellor has approved the leave, which can be availed once a month, except during university examination periods. This policy aims to support the health and well-being of female students at the university in Gangtok, Sikkim.
