Gangtok, Nov 27: Radhika Chettri, a student of Emergency Medical Technology at Medhavi Skills University (MSU), has been selected to represent India at the World Skills Asia 2025 competition scheduled to be held in Taipei from November 27 to 29. This is the first time a student from a private university in Sikkim has been chosen for Team India at the event.

Radhika’s selection follows her silver-medal win in the Health and Social Care category at the India Skills competition last year, marking a first-time achievement for both Sikkim and MSU. With this, MSU also became the youngest university in the country to secure a national-level victory in the skill-based contest.

World Skills Asia is regarded as a leading platform for showcasing vocational excellence across the continent, where national champions participate in various technical skill categories.

In preparation for the upcoming event, Radhika underwent extensive simulation-based training and practical exposure at the Vidyanta Skills Institute and Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.

Radhika said the opportunity to represent India is a significant milestone in her academic journey, crediting the support of her university, mentors, and family.

MSU Vice Chancellor Pravesh Dudani described the achievement as an important moment for the North-East, while MSU Pro-Chancellor Kuldip Sarma said the accomplishment highlights the role of quality, skill-focused education in strengthening India’s future workforce.
