Six Militants Arrested In Separate Operations Across Manipur

Security forces arrested several active cadres of different proscribed outfits in a series of operations conducted across Manipur on February 25 and 26, 2026, recovering arms, ammunition and other incriminating materials.

On February 26, security forces apprehended an active member of the PLA/RPF, identified as Longjam Yaiphaba Angom alias Nanao (30) of Top Upokpi Makha Leikai under Wangoi Police Station in Imphal West district. He was arrested from the Waheng Khuman area of Imphal West district. Two mobile phones were seized from his possession.

On the same day, an active cadre of the PREPAK (PRO), identified as Thokchom Raj Singh (25) alias Ibungo of Wangjing Lamding Thokchom Leikai in Thoubal district, was arrested from the Ghari area under Lamphel Police Station in Imphal West district. A mobile phone and an Aadhaar card were seized from him.

In another operation on February 26, security forces arrested an active cadre of the KCP (PSC), Prithibiraj Moirangthem alias 3B (26) of Khongman Zone-III, Lisham Leirak in Imphal East district, from his residence under Irilbung Police Station.

Earlier, on February 25, an extortionist identified as Moirangthem Jenyson Singh alias Ahenba alias Naobi (26), an active cadre of the RPF/PLA from Wangjing Sorokhaibam Leikai in Thoubal district, was arrested from Koirengei Manung Laikon Leirak under Heingang Police Station in Imphal East district. Security forces seized three banners related to the RPF/PLA Foundation Day and two mobile phones from his possession.

On the same day, two more RPF/PLA cadres — Thingom Mahenjit Singh alias Anao (22) of Yaingangpokpi Awang Leikai and Ngangbam Derick Singh (20) of Soibam Leikai, Wangkhei Khunou — were arrested from the Yaingangpokpi area under Yaingangpokpi Police Station in Imphal East district. Security personnel recovered one No. 36 hand grenade, one detonator, ten live rounds of ammunition of different calibres and two mobile phones from their possession.

Security forces said further investigation is underway.
