Agartala, February 07, 2026: Tripura police have arrested three persons in connection with the brutal attack on a six-year-old child at Paresh Colony in the Bhagalpur area of West Tripura district, under the jurisdiction of Agartala Airport police station.
Taking the incident with utmost seriousness, the police immediately launched an investigation and swiftly apprehended the accused. A case has been registered at the Airport police station bearing Case No. 2026 ARP 007. The case has been booked under Sections 127(2), 117(2) and 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), along with Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
The arrested accused have been identified as Deepali Banik (41), wife of Dilip Banik; Kajali Sarkar (50), wife of late Rajkishore Sarkar; and Manati Biswas (35), wife of Swapan Biswas. All three are residents of Paresh Colony in Bhagalpur under Airport police station in West Tripura district.
According to police sources, the incident is being viewed with extreme gravity, and the investigation is currently underway to ascertain all aspects related to the crime. The police have reiterated their zero-tolerance policy towards crimes against children and other vulnerable sections of society.
Officials have further assured that stringent legal action will be taken against those found guilty, and no leniency will be shown in cases involving violence against minors.
