Agartala, June 03, 2026: Tripura’s SC Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das on Tuesday launched a sharp political attack on the Trinamool Congress leadership in West Bengal, asserting that the party’s decline is “inevitable” and a consequence of its alleged arrogance and undemocratic functioning.
In a social media post, Das said that “time is indeed a powerful force,” adding that the people of West Bengal are now witnessing a significant political shift. He alleged that former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and party leader Abhishek Banerjee failed to uphold dignity in public life and accused them of fostering a culture of intimidation against political opponents.
Referring to past incidents, the minister claimed that threats were issued against BJP workers, which, according to him, contributed to public resentment. He further alleged that support within the Trinamool Congress has dwindled considerably, stating that only a handful of MLAs and MPs continue to stand firmly with the party leadership.
Das asserted that fear among the public has “largely disappeared,” leading to what he described as the weakening of the party’s grassroots influence. He likened the current condition of the Trinamool Congress to “a house of cards,” suggesting that its political structure is rapidly collapsing.
Terming the developments as a broader ideological victory, the Tripura minister described it as “a triumph of truth and democracy,” and claimed it reflects the sentiments of a section of people in West Bengal.
He concluded his remarks with a patriotic note, hailing it as a moment of victory for democratic values and invoking “Victory to Mother India.”
