Agartala, December 31, 2025: Tripura Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Wednesday stated that multiple infrastructure and development projects under the Transport Department are advancing steadily and are likely to be completed within the next six months.
The Minister reviewed the progress of ongoing works on the final day of 2025, assessing key projects across motor stands, District Transport Offices (DTOs), and the Transport Commissioner’s building. Speaking to the media after the meeting, he said the discussions focused on physical progress, timelines, and financial status.
Chowdhury said the department conducts quarterly reviews to ensure close monitoring and timely execution. “We examined each project in detail and discussed the required timeframe and financial aspects. The overall progress across the state is satisfactory, with most works moving at full pace,” he noted. He further expressed confidence that a majority of the projects would be completed within the next five months with coordinated efforts from departmental officials and implementing agencies.
He also attributed the steady progress to the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha. “Under the Chief Minister’s guidance, the Transport Department has undertaken several key initiatives. With continued support from the Finance Department and the Government of India, we expect to complete and dedicate these projects to the public within the scheduled timeframe,” he said.
Senior officials, including the Transport Department Secretary and Commissioner, Additional Secretary of the Finance Department, Chief Engineers from the Rural Development, Water Resources, and Public Works Departments, and the CEO of the Tripura Housing Board, attended the review. Representatives from all eight districts were also present.
The meeting additionally reviewed projects sanctioned under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme, with officials evaluating timelines, fund utilisation, and execution-related challenges to ensure timely completion.
