The Agartala Railway Police have made a significant bust, recovering 20 kilograms of dry ganja from Platform No. 2 of Agartala Railway Station. The contraband was neatly packed in 10 unclaimed packets and was discovered during a routine check. After completing the necessary legal formalities, the illicit consignment was officially seized.
The market value of the seized ganja is estimated to be approximately Rs 2 lakh. The Agartala Government Railway Police have initiated a thorough investigation to identify the individuals behind this illegal consignment and uncover their network.
This recovery comes on the heels of another successful operation earlier this week, where a joint team of Agartala GRP and Railway Protection Force personnel apprehended three alleged drug peddlers at the Agartala Railway Station. Over 3.2 kilograms of dry ganja were seized from their possession, which was hidden within a single bag. The trio reportedly confessed to their intention of transporting the ganja to Chennai.
