Agartala, June 23, 2025: In a vibrant tribute to Olympic Day, the Headquarters of 21 Sector Assam Rifles organized a spirited three-day sports celebration from June 20 to 22, aimed at promoting fitness, camaraderie, and Olympic values among military personnel and their families.
The festivities commenced on June 20 with an Officers’ Squash Competition and a Children’s Badminton Tournament, encouraging multi-generational participation. The second day featured a Basketball Match between 21 Sector Assam Rifles and 35 Assam Rifles, as well as a Football Match between 21 Sector Assam Rifles and a local youth team—events that embodied teamwork, discipline, and friendly rivalry. A Fun Cycling event, held the same day, witnessed enthusiastic participation from families and children of Agartala Garrison.
The celebrations peaked on June 22 with a high-energy ‘Run for Fun’, drawing widespread participation from personnel and their families, further energizing the station with the spirit of collective joy and fitness.
The culmination of the celebration took place on June 23 at Alpha Auditorium, Agartala, coinciding with the official Olympic Day. Brigadier Manish Rana, SM, Commander of 21 Sector Assam Rifles, felicitated the winners and participants, emphasizing the pivotal role of sports in fostering physical resilience, mental fortitude, and unity within the armed forces and society.
He lauded the enthusiastic participation, noting it as a reflection of the garrison’s commitment to holistic well-being and social cohesion.
