Agartala, October 28, 2025: In a major breakthrough against narcotics trafficking, Tripura’s Jatrapur Police Station arrested a youth identified as Kamrul Mia after recovering 1,500 Yaba tablets during a raid conducted in the Nidaya Gangkul area.
Acting on a tip-off from a confidential source, police conducted a targeted operation at Kamrul Mia’s residence, son of Farid Mia. During the search, officers seized 10 packets containing a total of 1,500 Yaba tablets, weighing approximately 162 grams. The estimated market value of the seized contraband is around Rs 75,000. The accused, aged around 28, was arrested on the spot.
OC of Jatrapur Police Station, Smriti Kanta Bardhan stated that the operation is part of an ongoing campaign to eradicate drug trafficking in the region. “The police are always active in eliminating drugs from society. Similar drives will continue in the coming days,” he said.
The incident has sparked widespread attention in the area, with residents praising the swift action of the police. Locals have urged authorities to further intensify efforts to curb the rising menace of narcotics and ensure a drug-free society.
