Agartala, June 09, 2025: Acting on a secret tip-off, Ambassa police arrested five Myanmar nationals from a house in the Lalchhari area on suspicion of illegal entry and residence. According to police sources, the individuals failed to produce any valid documents during the preliminary investigation.

Speaking about the incident, an officer from Ambassa police station said, “We received confidential information that some individuals were staying under suspicious circumstances in a rented house in Lalchhari. Acting promptly, our team conducted a raid and detained five people.”

During interrogation, all five detainees admitted to being citizens of Myanmar. However, none of them could provide valid documentation regarding their entry or stay in India. Police have registered a case against them under specific legal provisions related to illegal immigration.

“Their interrogation is ongoing, and a detailed investigation is underway to trace their route of entry and any potential links to wider networks,” added the officer.

The incident has raised concerns about border security and unauthorized movement across the international boundary. Authorities are now coordinating with central agencies for further verification and necessary action.
