Agartala, August 22, 2025: In a major breakthrough against narcotics trafficking, Assam Rifles, in coordination with Customs officials, seized a substantial consignment of methamphetamine tablets during a joint operation conducted on Thursday.
The operation led to the interception of a Maruti Suzuki WagonR (Registration No. TR 04 F0698), which was found to be transporting two large packets of methamphetamine. Authorities confirmed the haul comprised approximately 20,000 tablets, weighing 2 kilograms in total, with an estimated international market value of ₹2 Crores.
Four individuals, including the vehicle’s driver, were apprehended at the scene. The seized contraband and the detainees have since been handed over to the Customs Department for further investigation and legal proceedings.
